"Hung Parliament" - GB decides

BAADA ya kukurukakara miezi na wiki za kampeni na midahalo ya kihistoria ya uchaguzi wa kutafuta Chama na Waziri Mkuu wa kuiongoza UK kwa miaka mitano ijayo, Wananchi wa UK wameitika kwa sauti moja, "Hung Parliament".

Vyama vyote vilivyoshindana katika uchaguzi mkuu wa kugombea nafasi ya kuongoza nchi ya UK hasa vyama vitatu vikubwa Labour, Conservative na Liberal Democrats vimeshindwa kuchukua nafasi hiyo baada ya kushindwa kupata idadi ya kura zinazostahiki kikatiba.

Katiba inasema wazi kuwa, Ili chama kipate kuongoza nchi baada ya uchaguzi mkuu, chama kimojawapo kinatakiwa kipate viti au kura 326 bungeni (House of Commons), kwa kuwa vyama vyote vilivyoshindania viti hivyo vimeshindwa kupata kura 326 hakuna chama kinachostahiki kuongoza nchi na kwa hali hiyo inaitwa "Hung Parliament".

Hali hii inampa nguvu Waziri Mkuu aliyekuwepo katika uongozi wa serikali kabla ya kuvunjwa kwa bunge kwa ajili ya uchaguzi wa mwaka huu bwana Gordon Brown aendelee kuwa Waziri Mkuu wa UK mpaka utatuzi wa kiwingu cha "Hung Parliament" kuondoka, kwasababu Wananchi wa UK ndio wameamua kuwa uchaguzi huu hawakutaka Chama chochote kichukue uongozi katika vyama vyote vitatu, na, kwasababu bwana Gordon Brown aliombwa na Queen Elizabeth (Malkia) kuwa Waziri Mkuu wa UK baada ya bwana Tony Blair kuachia ngazi mwaka 2007.

Baadhi ya Wanasiasa wa upinzani (Conservative na Liberal Democrats) hali hii hawakuipenda sana lakini ndivyo hali ilivyo, na Gordon Brown bado ni Waziri Mkuu wa UK.

Aliyekuwa Cabinet Secretary, Lord Wilson alisema wazi katika muhadhara wake aliyoutoa Cambridge kwa kusema, "On Friday Mr Brown will remain prime minister until either he resigns or he loses a vote of confidence which would be on the Queen's speech... Nick Clegg, and, I think Cameron are disputing this – and they're wrong. They're wrong for the very good reason that Mr Brown is prime minister. You can't change it; it's a fact. The Queen asked him to be prime minister, and until he resigns, he still is prime minister. We don't elect a prime minister in this country... All anyone elects is their MP, and it's the MPs who decide who they will give their backing to as prime minister. That is the decisive factor."

Kwa hivyo baada ya matokeo ya kura za usiku uliopita ambao matokeo yake Wananchi wameipa Labour kura 258, Conservative kura 306 na Liberal Democrats kura 58 na Vyama vinginevyo kura 28.

Kilichobaki sasa ni Chama kimoja kiungane na chama kingine ili kuunda Serikali ya mseto na kuiongoza nchi kwa miaka mitano ijayo. Hali hii haijawahi kutokea kihistoria kwa zaidi ya miaka 36 iliyopita na ni hali ambayo Vyama vyote hujaribu kuiepuka kwani ukandarasi wake huwa mkubwa na huleta utata ndani yake kwasababu vyama vyote vina sera tofauti na maeneo madogo sana ambayo hukubaliana katika sera zao, lakini kama wanavyosema Wazungu "time will tell", na sisi kama ni Wananchi tunaomba Kheri tu kwa matokeo yoyote yale yatakayotokea ya mwaka huu kabla ya kukutana kupiga kura tena mwaka 2015.

The outcome of this country's vote is not yet known. But my duty to the country, coming out of this election, is to play my part in Britain having a strong, stable and principled government, able to lead Britain into sustained economic recovery and able to implement our commitments to far-reaching reform to our political system - upon which there is a growing consensus in our country.

David Cameron's speech (Conservative)

Whatever happens tonight, whatever the future may hold, I will always work hard as a constituency MP standing up for your interests. Nationally we have to wait for the full results to come out. But I believe it is already clear that the Labour government has lost its mandate to govern our country. Although there are still many more results to come out, it looks as if the Conservative party is on target to win more seats than we have done at any election for perhaps as long as 80 years ...

What will guide me in the hours ahead, and perhaps longer than the hours ahead, will be the national interest – to do what is right for our country, to make sure we have that government, have that stability, take the right decisions. We live in difficult times but this is a great country and we will come through them and be stronger. At all times what I will do is put the national interest first to make sure we have good, strong, stable government for our country.

This really is a great moment in our history. On behalf of all the people in Britain, we in Barking have not just beaten but we have smashed the extreme right...

The lesson from Barking to the BNP is clear: Get out and stay out, you're not wanted here and your vile politics have no place in British democracy. Pack your bags and go.

Simon Marcus (Conservative) Barking, amekuwa wapili baada ya Labour kwa kuchukua kura 6,620 na kumuweka Nick Griffin (BNP) katika sehemu ya tatu. Labour imeongoza kwa kura 16,000.
