PPP (Uganda) project to be
launched in London
23/05/2010

A major property development
opportunity and Public Private Partnership (PPP) project in Kampala the
capital of Uganda, is being launched in London, on Tuesday 20th July at
the Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch.
The Uganda Police Force is currently faced with an accommodation
challenge which is impacting on the provision of Police Services and
Crime Management. The Uganda Government has decided to use a Public
Private Partnership framework to meet these requirements. The capital
value of the project is estimated at US$550 million, making it an
attractive international investment opportunity.
The project has an unique element within it which one would not normally
find in a traditional PPP project, the Ugandan Government has decided
that not all the prime land under their management in Kampala and
Entebbe is needed to meet their requirements and are making it available
for significant commercial development potential and in the process add
value to the project and reduce the development cost in the process.
Uganda is a thriving economy in the heart of Africa with huge growth
potential. The country, known as the Pearl of Africa, is economically
strong and politically stable with agricultural and tourism potential
and untapped mineral and oil resources. Kampala, the capital of Uganda
is ready
for residential, commercial and retail development. Recent discovered
oil, mineral and other deposits in Uganda, is placing this East African
country
on the road of rapid development and economic growth.
Turner & Townsend, acting as Transaction Advisors to the Uganda Police
Force invite you to the London launch of this prestigious development
and
PPP opportunity. The project will be launched by the Deputy Prime
Minister
of Uganda.
The Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch, London, on Tuesday 20th July 2010.
