Blackberry Playbook unveiled

Research In Motion (RIM) and makers of popular BlackBerry phones have unveiled a tablet computer, which will function more or less like Amazon's Kindle or Apple's iPad.

RIM named the tablet, BlackBerry PlayBook. It has a 17"screen and dual facing cameras. It also is WiFi capable and has Bluetooth (but to access cellular networks, it needs to link with a BlackBerry smartphone).

It will start to ship to corporate customers and developers in October and to consumers early in 2011.
